The definition of yoga given in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is “to calm the fluctuations of the mind in order to recognize our true nature.”
To do this, we need to work systematically to move stagnation out of our body, balance our energy and tend to the fluctuations of our minds – known as the final frontier. As Mr. Iyengar so famously quoted, “the mind is the hardest part of the body to adjust” and for this reason, meditation is called the royal road to freedom.?
If you do not yet have a practice, I invite you to start today. In order to bring your mind into the correct and intended relationship with your soul, you must first learn how your mind is currently working. It begins with identifying your thinking patterns and re-organizing and training your mind to truly focus. You will begin by strengthening your ability to let go of what disturbs you and create an anchor of thoughts to focus the mind on.
Kundalini Yoga teaches us about the basic law in life – we attract what we vibrate. When we are feeling mentally and emotionally down on ourselves, we create circumstances that reinforce that feeling. When you want to change your circumstances, you must change your energy and consciously choose thoughts and actions that bring you joy.
See yourself as a magnet attracting more joy and love to you. Remember, your life is 100% of your doing. It all begins with your mind and energy. This is why the practices of yoga are perfect for creating an inner shift that consequently promotes an outer shift.?
Your practice may begin on the mat but doesn’t stop there. It should be continued throughout your day by being mindful about where you are choosing to place your energy. If you are ready to shift your thought patterns, awaken your energy, liberate yourself from negative thoughts and emotions, and access a sense of true calm and connection, I invite you to my Kundalini Series.
In order to free ourselves of years of conditioning, it takes will, patience, self-kindness, perseverance, curiosity, innocence and an understanding of where these glimpses of freedom can ultimately take us. Are you ready?
Brighten Your Energy & Become Your True Nature
Sequence for Strengthening the Aura & Nervous System
The aura (8th chakra) is the circumvent field or force that surrounds all the other chakras. It protects a person from negative influences and projects our true nature into the world. When our aura is weak, we are vulnerable to everything around us, including diseases, negative attitudes, and emotions. Instead, a strong aura filters negative influences and allows us to live vibrantly and feel happy and healthy.
This kriya yoga class will create a tremendous sweat, helping your body detox itself, fight against disease and aid in digestive health. It gives strength to the arms and extends our power of protection and projection.
Exploring Naad (Sound Essence) for Emotional & Mental Balance?
Sequence of Movement, Breathwork & Mandhavani Kriya; Mantra to Clear Blocks.
The practice of movement, breathwork, and meditation with mantra brings you into your heart, opens your perception, and guides you to immediately recognize the way forward. Mandhavani means being in the presence of intelligence, beauty, and profound caring. It’s a state of joy that occurs when you feel the hand and grace of God accompany each effort and breath you take. In this state, all victory is yours and there is no victory to win other than conquering your own heart.
In addition to the term 'mantra’, you will also hear the word ‘naad’ in connection with Kundalini Yoga. Naad means “the essence of all sound” and is known as a particular vibration and fundamental frequency that comes from one common sound current. It is the universal code behind language and therefore behind human communication.

Your energy is a source of inspiration and healing. Experience the purity of radiance and the joy of Being while working your whole body and ending in silent meditation. Creative Energy Boost
Sequence To Wash Away The Old, Make Way For The New
This class is all about letting go of the old and embracing new and fresh opportunities. It balances our first three energy centers, liberating yourself from old habits and self-destructive tendencies. The kriya physically stimulates the nervous and glandular system in a way that elevates our energy and encourages us to view the world from a different perspective. To optimize the effects of this class, it is important to remember to focus the mind on what you are doing and experiencing in the midst of being in the kriya.
This set also includes a writing of intention and goals while meditating and engaging with the creative energy of Shakti – the primal force of all creations.
I started my Journey in Yoga almost 9 years ago and transformed my self and my life.
I practice and teach both Hatha and Kundalini Yoga. I see my Hatha practice as daily maintenance a great way to work out kinks in my body, get grounded and calm. My Kundalini practice is a place of transformation. The kriyas and meditations are much more specific than your regular flow class, much like an Iyengar or Ghosh practice, but rather than focusing on physical alignment, the kriyas are a specific set of exercises that generate energy, organize that energy and deliver you to a specific energetic state particularly one of greater awareness.
Also within the practice are built-in moments of stillness where we sit quietly and awaken to our Self. The breathwork within the kriyas is so powerful that it starts to strip away the layers that veil our consciousness, and in the sweet moments between poses we can sense the fullness of who we are. The kriyas work on strengthening your nervous system, balancing your glandular system, purifying the body and calming the mind.
I have practiced kriyas that have left me blissed out, high and filled with a sense of connection and joy, and others that have provoked and confronted me to the very core of who I am, both physically and mentally. I have learned to stay present and accept pleasure and pain as part of the same journey to health and balance. Our ego naturally leans towards pleasure and comfort. It takes concerted effort and discipline to begin to release the ego’s grip on our consciousness. This effort is the work required to begin to access the truth of who we are, to create a strong connection to our Soul and therefore our Soul’s work on this planet. It is where we start to make great strides toward living as an enlightened being.
Before practicing Kundalini Yoga, I had done some meditation, but it had always been elusive for me. Meditations within Kundalini Yoga are multifaceted. You can do the simplest forms, such as breath awareness or simple mantra, or explore more elaborate meditations where there is a specific breath, mantra and mudra that all work together to balance different aspects of the mind and body. When practiced for 40–120 days, the result is pure magic.
